Jan Mayen next

After hectic preparations in Florø, and the arrival of the last crew member Henrik Nilsen, we are at last heading out to sea.

Sailing to Jan Mayen is expected to be the hardest leg on the trip. The prevailing winds are from the North, and with a tight time schedule we have the less exciting but still fabulous ”Faro Islands” as an alternative destination. To improve our chances of success, we have fueled up with an additional 300 liters of diesel, on top of the 130 liters of the fuel tank already onboard.

When we leave Florø behind us in a couple of hours, we expect the next sight of land to be Jan Mayen, 650 nautical miles and 5 days of sailing to the north. Adventure awaits!

Nok et spennende prosjekt Andreas. Jeg skal følge dere på nettet. Oppfør dere ordentlig på Jan Mayen. Jeg kjenner sjefen (høvdingen) der oppe og skal melde fra at dere kommer.
